Eric Wenberg was named executive director of the Mount Desert Festival of Chamber Music in November 2025, online at www.mtdesertfestival.org. Eric is a lifelong musician and volunteer for musical organizations including choruses, such as the Mount Desert Summer Chorale, the Arlingtones, chamber music, strings and brass, and concert bands. He sings bass and wishes for a few more of the lowest notes. Eric was a career member of the Senior Foreign Service at the U.S. Department of Agriculture, serving in American Embassies in Ottawa, Pretoria, Warsaw and Moscow. He was active abroad assisting U.S. businesses to export, planning trade events, and promotions. He also served on the governing board of the American Foreign Service Association. After Government, Eric operated a national trade association. He speaks Russian and Polish.

 

Wenberg graduated from the University of Wyoming. He moved to Maine in 2010.
